Aidan has a strange habit of falling asleep in his Jumparoo. He'll be bouncing around - more like side to side, like a speed skater - when all of a sudden he starts to slow down and his head starts to droop. Then he'll start jumping again and repeat this process until he conks out. Strange kid, but whatever works to help him sleep! Actually, he's a good sleeper. We started trying him on rice cereal last week but he's not too sure what to make of it quite yet. We'll have to keep trying as he's not quite satisfied anymore with an 8 oz bottle. He'll be eating us out of house and home in no time!
It's been an eventful week for Maddie. Our pediatrician had heard a heart murmur during her 4 month checkup and had us f/u with a pediatric cardiologist, and we saw her on Friday. She diagnosed Maddie with an ASD, or atrial septal defect which is a congenital heart defect. She's fine for now but will need it to be repaired sometime before she goes to kindergarten. Hopefully they can repair it with a device developed by the U of M rather than having to do open heart surgery. All's looking well for now but we'll be keeping a close eye on her until she's big enough to have the procedure done.
Zoe's continuing to do well, she's doing PT to help her with her neck muscles and movement of her head. I'm not convinced she has a problem, I think she's just stubborn in trying to move her little head sometimes. But PT gives us a little outing and "mommy and me" time, which is fun.
We're just about done Christmas shopping, this year feels more festive than most. It's fun to see Christmas through Ellie's eyes. She has a lot of questions about Santa and how he gets on our roof and down the chimney. We have an appt to meet him next Friday at the MOA, maybe she can ask him herself! I just hope she doesn't freak out like last year! That was terrible.
Anyway, I should get to bed. It's 1:15 a.m., I can't sleep but should make an effort.
