Ellie started soccer today! The local YMCA has indoor Pee-Wee soccer for 3-yr olds and so we signed her up. Unfortunately, it didn't go so well. One of the other dads likened today's session to herding cats, and that description was pretty accurate! Ellie did fine when each of the kids had their own ball and were more or less playing by themselves, but when it was time to scrimmage with another team, it was another story. Three year-olds don't quite understand the concepts of teams and teamwork or sharing, and Ellie was not happy that other kids were trying to take "her" ball and were chasing it too. It ended in quite a meltdown. There's only one other little girl on her team and she was having a bad day too, unfortunately. We can't let the boys take over the team! Hopefully next week will go better for them both! Here's the only good photo I got:
In other news, Aidan's 3rd tooth, his front right tooth (left side in the photo), finally popped through today! He's been a little fussy and has been drooling like crazy. The other front tooth is getting close too. Go Aidan! He'll be eating steak on his 1st birthday, I'm sure.
