Ellie's been such a big helper this week! The other day Wiggles, unfortunately, got into something and got sick on our carpet early in the morning, before we woke up. Dave cleaned it up somewhat before he left for work but it then fell to me to finish the job. I'd gotten all the kids up and fed them, and then put the babies down for their morning naps. I figured I'd better get a quick shower in while they slept as I could work on the carpet after they woke up. I started a quick load of laundry and grabbed a bucket from the basement and left it by the stain on the carpet. While I was showering, Ellie came upstairs with the bucket and asked me what it was for. I told her I was going to put some water in it and use it to clean the carpet. She was gone in a flash! Before I could even finish showering and get dressed, she was coming back upstairs, telling me, "I helped you, Mommy, I put water on the carpet." Sure enough, I came down to find she'd probably filled the bucket about halfway and poured it on the carpet, which was completely saturated. Of course I couldn't get mad at her but thanked her for helping me! And then I grabbed a bunch of towels to start sopping up the water. Thankfully my dad brought over his carpet cleaner so we can now clean the carpet, which is long overdue anyway. Might be time for us to invest in one!
