Walking and climbing!

FINALLY! Maddie is walking - almost entirely. She is taking every opportunity to walk and is rarely crawling as of this past Friday. She's still a little stiff-legged but is doing great and you can tell she's SO proud of herself! And of course, we're thrilled, too. Way to go!
Not to be outdone, on Thursday of this week, Zoe started climbing stairs all by herself! She actually started by climbing onto a wooden box (see photo) and hasn't stopped climbing since. She's getting into absolutely everything and trying to climb on everything too. Honestly, she's not even content to sit in my lap for very long anymore, she's got to be on the move! Her method is pretty unconventional: she doesn't climb using her knees at all. She puts her right foot up on whatever she's climbing and then uses her hands to pull herself up. This isn't a great way to climb but it works for her, it just makes me nervous.
Also this week, Zoe had a very positive follow up appt with her neurologist, who was so impressed with Zoe's progress! She didn't seem to think there was a need at this time to repeat an MRI since she's doing so well, and will check her again at age 2 at which point she expects Zoe will be walking and talking. There's still no way to predict what, if any, other delays we may expect with Zoe, but overall, she's doing great so far!
Both girls were weighed again this week: Zoe's up to 14 lbs, 4 oz., and Maddie's at 19 lbs., 4 oz., so they've both gained since their 15 month checkup, which is a relief. We'll continue to keep an eye on their growth though.
Aidan had another rough week with a tumble down the stairs. Actually, I think he threw himself down the stairs after me when I was leaving to take Zoe to her doctor appt. Poor guy got quite a bruise on the side of his head but is OK. We may need to invest in helmets for these kids!
Ellie started her 3rd try at Pike 2 swimming lessons this week and had a great time. She's still loving preschool and can't wait to go on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She comes home most days singing new songs and with really cute art projects. I'm so glad she has that time away from us so she can just have fun and be with other kids her age!
