This is going to sound like a broken record, but we've all been sick again this week! Zoe started it on Wednesday by waking up with a fever which quickly spiked to 104.7 before lunchtime. Dave came home from work to stay with the other kids while Zoe and I went off to the ER at the advice of our pediatrician. Her tests thankfully came back normal and she was given fluids via an IV as she was dehydrated, but the doctors could only assume it was a virus and sent us home. Maddie soon came down with it too but her fever never went quite that high. Aidan caught the bug this Saturday and was still sick today, and Ellie woke up sick this morning. Her fever hit 104.9 tonight, poor girl, but it's already on it's way down. The worst thing is that there's just so little we can do to make them feel better! We probably should buy stock in whoever makes Tylenol and Motrin, though. Hopefully we'll all be over this in the next day or two.
It's been so nice out - 40 degrees plus most every day this week - and we've been taking advantage of the sunshine and getting out for brief walks around the neighborhood on most days (before the Sickness, that is!). Ellie even got to ride her trike a couple times, and I'm sure it felt good to stretch her legs. I think the fresh air did us all some good!
We need to catch you all up on a few other things going on around here that I've forgotten to mention lately:
- Ellie now has a bunkbed in her room! She's sleeping in the bottom bunk for now, and is pretty good at following our rule (as far as we know) that Dave and/or I have to be in the room with her whenever she's on the top bunk. At some point after the triplets outgrow their cribs - hopefully not any time soon! - one of them will take the bottom bunk and she can then move up top. So until the kids get a little older, we can have two kids in each of the smaller bedrooms. Once they get much older, who knows what we'll do then?? We've got some time to figure that one out.
- I got to spend a morning with Ellie at her preschool (picture below). They had a "Take Your Parent(s) to School Day" which gave us a good idea of what they do every day. It was a lot of fun! We did a craft project together and then had some free time to play, then sat with the other kids and parents for a lesson on the 5 senses. Then it was off to the "Big Muscle Room" where the kids could run around, climb on equipment, ride trikes, etc., and then we went back to the classroom for storytime. She loves preschool and is so excited to go on Tuesdays and Thursdays! Next fall she'll go back to this same preschool 3 mornings a week (M,W, and F) - one more year before kindergarten!
- To the chagrin of some of our friends - you know who you are! - we are now a 2 minivan family! We replaced our totalled Saturn last weekend with a 2004 Honda Odyssey, which so far I love! It only has 61000 miles on it and is in great shape, and has a lot more room than our Caravan. It's just going to be so much easier to have 2 vehicles than can carry us all if necessary. And it's so nice to have this ordeal over with!
Anway, on to the latest photos, which I suspect is what most of you come here for anyway:
