Spring has finally sprung! This week it's only spring fever that has set in for a change. We spent a lot of time outside this week - we made it out every day except Wednesday, when it rained. The kids love driving their Cozy Coupes and playing in the backyard on their play set:
Ellie is on spring break this week, and I attended her pre-school parent/teacher conference last Thursday. She's doing great, and her teachers report that she's very social, very imaginative, and is demonstrating leadership qualities! Apparently she came up with playing, and leads, "Princess Party" with the girls in the dress-up area, and "Sea Monsters" in their big-muscle (exercise) room and all the kids follow her lead. I'm sure once Maddie, Zoe, and Aidan get a little bigger she'll be leading them in games around here too. Or making them do her chores, I'm not sure which. Probably both.
We took the kids to the Children's Museum this morning as they currently have a dinosaur exhibit that Ellie's really been wanting to check out. She really enjoys watching "Dinosaur Train" on PBS and a few weeks ago she told me that dinosaur bones and dinosaur poop are fossils. I was amazed that she even knew about fossils, and after I complimented her on that, she told me she is an expert on dinosaurs. She's since come up with other subjects on which she's an expert, but I digress. The kids seemed to really enjoy the museum though it was so packed with people, it was hard to spend much time at any one area and it was even harder to keep track of our bunch. Ellie got a kick out of seeing the dinosaurs and digging for "fossils". Even Maddie and Zoe got into the act:
Ellie also got to play in a "rock band" and watch herself dance in a music video, and she and Aidan both got to drive an MTC bus:
Zoe had another PT session last week and the therapist says she's just so close to walking on her own. I completely agree, but don't see that PT has really been doing much to help. And, since we just got a monster bill for last month's PT, we may just continue working with her on our own and with the help of the county nurse and school district teacher who come to check on her monthly. They were just here this past week and both continue to be optimistic about her progress as well. And, she's almost 15 pounds! She weighed in at 14 lbs, 14 oz.. I guess I should have topped her off with some juice before they arrived. Oh well. Maybe next time.
