A visit with Grandma; Terrible Two's

Grandma came to visit Friday night! Ok, she comes to visit almost every week, but the kids just love to see her and we got to spend some time with her outside before dinner. Maddie wasn't in the mood to be photographed, so we had to make do with the others:

It was a long week with sick kids - AGAIN! - and after several sleepless nights spent on the couch with each of them in turn, they finally took Dave down with them. Somehow I escaped it this time. It must've been just a spring cold but they were all pretty miserable. I'm guessing Ellie's picking up this stuff at school, so maybe it's a good thing she only has a month left before summer vacation. Though I know she's really going to miss it! We'll have to find other things to do to keep busy during the summer.
I think the triplets are starting to slide down into the terrible-two's. They're starting to fight more and more lately. Aidan is pretty strong, and easily knocks the girls to the ground if he gets mad. Zoe's into hair-pulling and head-butting these days. And Maddie still bites on occasion, though she's more likely to scratch faces or else just get mad and cry. Loudly. It's a full-time job just to keep them from hurting each other and they are fast at lashing out. There have been several occasions where I've had two or three kids on my lap and they start poking each other, and then a brawl breaks out. I've even been caught in the crossfire and have my share of war wounds to prove it. Hopefully they'll grow out of this soon!
I should say they also are playing together more and more these days, which is fun to watch. Aidan and Maddie are like two peas in a pod and they love to make each other giggle. And Ellie absolutely adores Zoe and always wants to play with her. I'll try to get the video camera out this week and get some new footage of the bunch!
