Another school year has begun for Ellie! She's in her 2nd year of preschool and had her first day today - and she had a blast! She'll be going on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings this year, which was a tough change from last year as she's leaving behind a few good friends she'd made in the Tuesday/Thursday a.m. class who decided to continue on those same days. But, they'll be going to a different school next year for Kindergarten anyway, and Ellie's really good at making friends, so we're not worried about it. She really likes her new teachers and is excited about a new school year! Aidan has been hitting all sorts of "milestones" lately. He's practically pushing US into potty training HIM - he is obsessed with "going potty" to the point that he had a meltdown in Target last week over it. Dave took him twice (nothing happened) and yet when we refused to take him a 3rd time, he let the whole store know how unhappy he was. He has gone a couple times here at the house, and he's tried several other times. Aidan even went once at a restaurant with Dave when we were all out to dinner a couple weeks ago. I think he may be ready but I was really hoping to train all three of the littles at the same time, and the girls are definitely not yet ready.
Aidan's speech has really taken off too. His favorite expression (besides "No, Mommy") is "go home!". He apparently is not a fan of Menards as when I took the kids there two weeks ago to order a new screen door panel -they bent the frame of the old one about an hour after it was installed this spring - he loudly told me all the way through the store, "Go home" and "Go home right now!". Now, Menards is hardly my favorite store, but I could tolerate it for the 15 minutes it took me to get the door ordered. Go figure. I would've thought my only boy would be more interested in Menards than me.
Aidan's other milestone of late is climbing out of his crib. With the side rail up, of course. He can open doors too so I've been greeted twice by him outside his door when he was supposed to be napping. I think it's almost time for his "big boy bed". Now we just have to figure out if we keep the girls in their cribs or put them in regular beds now too. I'm too tired to even think about what all that might entail. Ugh.
