The kids and I are having a lazy day today. It's snowing yet again and we're crying UNCLE! Thankfully with Ellie on spring break, we have absolutely no reason to leave the house. We had a few nicer days in the last week or two and took full advantage of those to get outside but we're just itching for sunshine, warmer weather and green grass! Despite March being my birthday month, it's probably my least favorite month as we're pretty tired of winter and being stuck inside by now and yet it's usually still too chilly or wet to do much outdoors. So today we're going to get a little crafty and do a few fun things this morning, then maybe pop some popcorn, snuggle up on the couch and watch a movie after naps later on this afternoon.
I'm really excited as well to get outside and start shooting more photographs! I have a few people lined up for portrait sessions (you know who you are - thank you so much!) and can't wait to add to my portfolio. For those of you who are interested, you can see what I have in my portfolio so far by clicking here. I'll keep adding to it, so feel free to check back and PLEASE feel free to leave comments/feedback for me there or via email or by commenting on any of these posts.
As for our trip to the dentist: Ellie has been there about 3 times by now and is a pro, so she hopped right up onto her chair and got down to business. She had x-rays for the first time, which revealed the presence of 2 extra teeth behind her top front baby teeth, as I alluded to earlier. We were told to wait until either next year, or when the front teeth fall out, and then have those teeth removed by an oral surgeon. Not fun, but apparently, not a huge cause for concern. Except to our wallets.
Aidan and Maddie were not too willing to get their teeth looked at or cleaned, despite our efforts to prep them about what was going to happen at the dentist. There may have been some crying on both their parts. I'm not too worried about their reaction though - Ellie was the same way at her first appointment, but the next time, she was completely fine.
Zoe was our star child at the dentist - I couldn't believe it! She climbed right into her chair, laid back, put on her shades, and let the dental assistant go to work! What a trooper! I was so proud of her. Later I learned that my mom had "practiced" with Zoe at our house the day before our appointment - guess her little experiment worked with the Zo-Zo! We'll have to remember that for next time and practice with everyone before we go.
