Sorry for the long absence between posts. Unfortunately, lately updating this blog has felt like another chore on my never-ending to-do list rather than the fun record of what the kids have been up to that it's meant to be. I usually don't have time to blog until after the kids have been put to bed and they haven't been too great at staying down lately. No great excuse, but hopefully this will get a few people off my back (you know who you are!). And hopefully it'll be easier to stay on top of this soon! ;)
What have we been doing? A lot, actually. Potty training - I could write about that at length, but I'll spare you the details except to say that Zoe is doing AWESOME! It's still a work in progress though. We also did a scavenger hunt in Lebanon Hills Regional Park on the last really nice day we had before Easter Sunday. We spent an afternoon at Nickelodeon Universe with some old friends and their adorable little girl. I've been busy with 2 photo sessions I did for friends of ours - I'll have to post photos from those another time - both were so much fun for me; I'm learning a ton and can't wait to do more! We colored Easter eggs with my sister Lisa and then had a fun Easter Sunday starting with lots of candy from the Easter Bunny, followed by an egg hunt in the backyard (with the kids in their PJs), and then brunch with the family at my aunt and uncle's house in Edina. We took full advantage of the sunny afternoon with a walk around Centennial Lakes Park where a nice man let Ellie and Aidan pilot his toy sailboat - it was such a thrill for them! Hope you enjoy the photos from Easter.
Tomorrow afternoon I'll be taking Maddie to the cardiologist to see if she'll need surgery to fix the hole in her heart - she has an Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) which was diagnosed when she was pretty little, but we were told to wait until she was closer to age 3 to see if it closed on its own. When she most recently saw our pediatrician for an ear infection, the "murmur" was still audible, so we know it hasn't closed but we won't know until tomorrow if surgery will be needed. It's been on my mind a lot lately; please keep her in your prayers!
