Here's a recap of a conversation between Aidan and me on the way to swimming lessons this morning:
Aidan (upon seeing our garbage cans lined up at the end of the driveway): "Is it garbage day, Mom?"
Me: "Yes, it is."
Aidan: "Who's the garbage man?"
Me: "I'm not sure, I don't know his name."
Aidan: "Why is he a garbage man?"
Me: "Maybe when he was a little boy he wanted to be a garbage man, just like you want to be a firefighter."
Aidan: "But why is he a garbage man?"
Me: "Because someone has to do it. Maybe he just took the job to earn money to pay his bills."
Aidan: "What happens if he gets sick?"
Me: "I suppose someone else drives the truck."
Aidan: "Does he go to the doctor when he gets sick?"
Me (starting to get exhasperated with this line of questioning): "Probably."
Aidan: "Where does he go to the doctor?"
I swear I hear God laughing at this point.
Me: "I don't know! Oh look, there's a motorcycle!" (Trying to distract him and change the subject. Thankfully, it worked).
I realized after the last picture post that I inadvertently left Maddie out, there are no pictures of her! So, here's one of just her from that week when we were playing in the sprinkler:
