The kids got to visit Santa tonight at the Mall of America! The MOA actually has two Santas - one is the traditional mall Santa where you wait in line to see him; the other, Santa Sid, is the REAL deal! He has a storefront and you make appointments ahead of time so you have little to no wait, and he is truly fabulous. He takes his time with the kids, doesn't wear an imposing Santa suit (he says he's going for the "Santa's Workshop" look) and gets down on their level to make them more comfortable. This is our 3rd year seeing Santa Sid and the kids really loved him this year! They've been so excited to go and have been practicing for weeks what they were going to tell him they want for Christmas: Ellie- a Go Go My Walking Pup, Aidan - a remote control car, Maddie - a toy, and Zoe - Baby Belle. Aside from Aidan getting a little nervous right when we got there, they were all smiles and had no trouble telling him their names, ages, and what they want for Christmas:
I had a tough time shopping for Maddie this year as she hadn't really picked out anything specific that she wanted for Christmas. Last week I was kind of pressing her and suggesting that she'd need to have something to tell Santa (hoping, of course, for some ideas!), but Ellie interjected and told Maddie that Santa would be sure to get her something she'd love even if she didn't tell him something specific. Thanks, Ellie.
We had to stop in Bloomington on the way home to check out a beautiful tree that's lit every year with Christmas lights on every branch and is visible for miles around - it's simply gorgeous and is truly a sight to behold. Enjoy, and Merry Christmas from the Karnowskis!
