Yesterday I received my 2nd call in 2 weeks from the nurse at Ellie's elementary school. A week ago Monday, Ellie and another kindergarten girl had collided on the playground at recess, with Ellie taking the brunt of the hit and ending up with one heck of a shiner. The nurse had called and assured me that while Ellie was fine, she was pretty upset. The triplets and I headed right over and brought Ellie home to recuperate the rest of the day. Again, that was just last week, and her black eye is still pretty colorful.
So, yesterday I receive call #2 from the nurse. She again was quick to reassure me that Ellie was OK, but informed me that in gym class, Ellie unfortunately walked right in front of another student who was just about to throw a ball. I started to chuckle at this point - I'm sure it probably wasn't the most appropriate reaction - but I could just see in my mind how it must have happened. The ball of course connected soundly with Ellie's forehead and she now has a lump and bruise above her left eye.
I'm starting to wonder if a plastic bubble or some sort of helmet might be in order for kindergarten. Lord help us with the triplets start "real" school.

If you can get her a bubble, let me know where you got it, because I can use one too!
