A double dose today to make up for my lack of blog posts lately:
1. We've been busy re-decorating Aidan's room recently and my mom came to visit today with a couple throw pillows and a new set of sheets she'd bought for him. She arrived when the kids were still at preschool, so after Aidan came home, she started to lead him upstairs by telling him she had something for him. He said, "I hope it's not a big booger!"
2. One of my favorite parts of the day (for many reasons!) is bedtime for the kids. Aidan gets tucked in first, then the girls, Dave, and I proceed to their room to get them all tucked in. Our routine is always the same: Zoe gets tucked in first and I have to ask her if she wants me to sing her a song. Most often, her answer is no. Maddie goes next and Ellie goes last. While Ellie always has me sing "You Are My Sunshine" to her, I have to ask Maddie each night if she wants her special song, "How Much Is That Doggie in the Window?". Most nights she wants me to sing it to her, but occasionally she'll tell me no. "But," she always quickly replies with a big smile on her face, "I still love you!"
