In celebration of Father's Day, I sat down with the kids to ask them a few questions about their dad. Here are their responses (specific individual comments are attributed to a kid by their first initials):
- What is something dad always says to you? E: I love you. A: Goodbye. M: High Five
- What makes dad happy? M&Z: Kisses. E: Fishing with me.
- What makes dad sad? When we say we don't love him and don't sit by him. When he's at work and doesn't see us.
- How does your dad make you laugh? Tickles, spins me around my my arms.
- What did your dad like to do when he was a child? Go fishing without us (E). Go hiking.
- How old is your dad? E: 39.
- How tall is your dad? E: I don't know. A: Big as a mountain. Z: Big as a house.
- What is his favorite thing to watch on TV? The news.
- What does your dad do when you're not around? Go to work.
- If your dad becomes famous, what would it be for? Getting lots of money.
- What is your dad really good at? Tickling, giving us kisses.
- What is your dad not very good at? Spelling.
- What does your dad do for his job? Helps people (E).
- What is your dad's favorite food? Spicy stuff.
- What makes you proud of your dad? E: He's kind. Z: He sleeps in his own bed.
- If your dad were a cartoon character, who would he be? M: Clifford.
- What do you and your dad do together? Fish. Z: Play in the backyard.
- How are you and your dad the same? E: Like to dance.
- How are you and your dad different? E: don't know.
- How do you know your dad loves you? He says so. He kisses me. Z: I have my "love" shirt (I heart Daddy).
- What does your dad like most about your mom? She's beautiful. (No, I did not prompt that one at all!)
- Where's your dad's favorite place to go? To work, the cabin, Walmart, and the Mall of America.
