First lost tooth!
I know we all say this every year, every summer: where does the time go?? Our June was packed and I'm just now getting to sit down and go through our photos and reflect on what all we've been doing. Aidan lost his first tooth- courtesy of the dentist. He'd hit his right front tooth about a year ago and it turned gray and I'll spare you the rest of the details. He handled it like a big boy - though the dentist had to give him extra gas before he showed any effect! The highlight of our month was a visit by Dave's dad which coincided with our niece's high school graduation. The kids just loved seeing Papa Joe and we made the most of his visit with a trip to the zoo, a Polish dinner at Nye's Polonaise Room, and a quick Karnowski family reunion! Without further ado, here we go with our June pics:

Joe's visit was a great excuse to get the family out to Nye's for a Polish dinner- yummy pierogi! If you haven't had one, you're missing out!

We took Joe to the MN Zoo on a scorcher of a day and saw the Dinosaur exhibit! Despite our repeated reassurances that the dinosaurs were NOT real and were like robots, the kids were a little nervous. Aidan even started whimpering right away: "I can't see their screws! I can't see their screws!"
Cooling off at the zoo splash pad:
Our road trip up to the Karnowski reunion included an unexpected tire blow. We'd stopped for a bathroom break at a gas station, then made what ended up being a wrong turn down a rural road. About 2 miles down the road, the left rear tire on the van blew. Dave managed to get pulled off the road and we set about putting on the spare. Ellie's remark when told we'd have to change the tire? "Aw, I'm going to miss that tire." ????

The spare wasn't fully inflated, and while we were stopped we'd realized
we were going the wrong way so we headed back to the gas station to
fill the spare tire with air and get going the right way. While Dave was
filling the tire, he luckily turned around to see this oasis:
Que the angels singing! Speaking of angels, the guys working at the tire shop truly were. They'd closed for the day about a half hour before we pulled in but were still there and happily got to work swapping out our spare with another tire so we could get home safely. Thanks, Kierstead Truck and Auto!!
Only a couple hours late, we finally made it to the reunion and had a
blast catching up with Dave's family, many of whom hadn't yet met the
triplets. One of the um, delicacies, was grilled chicken feet which Dave's grandma used to make. Ellie, Zoe and I passed, but, well, the rest of the pics speak for themselves:

Maddie, what'd you think of the chicken feet?
