I think I'm going to have to change the name of our blog as even I can't "keep up" with the Karnowskis lately! I have yet to blog any photos from July - which included the trips' birthday! Sigh. I'll get to it later. This last week has been pretty exciting with a trip to the Great Minnesota Get-Together (aka the State Fair!), a trip to the cabin, and today, a trip to the beach. Let's start with the fair; we went on Thursday, 8/30 which was to be the hottest day of the fair with predicted highs approaching 100. Thankfully I think the heat scared away a lot of people as it wasn't as crazy busy as it usually is, and I think the actual high was about 86. With a nice breeze it was actually pretty comfortable. We arrived around 9:30 a.m., met up with my mom and hit the Giant Slide right away, then the Kidway and Little Farm Hands right after that. Throw in some cheese curds, Sweet Martha's cookies, and a few other shared food items and the kids had a great day! Dave and I were able to pawn the kids off on my sister late in the afternoon as he and I had Grandstand tickets to see Eden's Edge (they were OK), the Eli Young Band (better than OK), Little Big Town (awesome) and Rascal Flatts (fabulous!). Here are some of the highlights:

| the kids got to play in a Mr. Bubbles play area- we had to hose them down afterwards |
| Our first trip EVER to the State Fair first aid - Maddie got some dust blown in her eye |
| Maddie and Zoe riding the Wacky Whale or something like that |
| Aidan and Ellie, flying aces |
| all four kids got to ride the kid-sized Ferris Wheel |
| A State Fair staple: mini doughnuts! |
| Aidan and Ellie on the bumper boats |
| Wishful thinking, Grandma! |
| First bite of the corn dog (no, not a Pronto Pup and yes, there is a difference!) |
| The Dominator! Yes, I am a geek. The TIV was there too but this is way cooler. And Reed Timmer is cuter than Sean. If you don't know what I'm talking about, never mind. |
| Self-explanatory |
| Taking turns riding.... |
| ...and pushing. |
| Have to take a photo with the big pumpkins! |

We spent this weekend at my dad's cabin but I never even took my camera out of my camera bag. The kids did a little fishing, we fixed a couple things around the place and stopped at Ellie's Ice Cream Shop in Amery on the way home. And that's all I have to say about that.
Today, Labor Day, we spent the morning catching up on a few things around the house and then hit the beach this afternoon for one last hurrah before Ellie starts first grade tomorrow. The water at Schulze Beach wasn't as warm as it was earlier this summer, but the kids didn't seem to mind and we had a great time!
