Let's pretend it's still July!

Let's pretend it's still July and I'm posting this as it's actually happening. I'm choosing to ignore the fact that I'm typing here at my desk, sun glaring off the snow, icing my back after shoveling the sidewalks from all the snow that blew over them yesterday. Instead I'll pretend I'm using this ice pack to me cool from the awful heat and humidity we're suffering through. Are you with me?

Oh, forget it. I have a hard enough time being consistent with past and present tense when I'm writing. I'm not kidding anyone. It's December and I'm WAY behind on blogging. So, let's dive right in! While I'm at it, I might as well turn on some Christmas music on Pandora. It IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

July was fun this year. I already blogged about the 4th of July (ahem, back in October). But that is not all that we did. Oh no, that is not all! (A little Seuss reference). Aidan played tee ball, the kiddos turned 5, and Ellie, Maddie and Zoe continued the gymnastics classes they started in June. Let's get started with tee-ball.

The kids had to choose an activity or sport to do during the summer: tee-ball, soccer, gymnastics.  Aidan chose tee-ball, which met during what seemed like the hottest week of the summer. It took a little while for him to get into it, but even now he's already talking about doing tee-ball (or baseball) again next summer. He even brought his "Merit Award" for participating in tee-ball to preschool as a show and tell item so he could tell his classmates all about it. (Even though they spelled his last name Kamowski).

Aidan had two coaches; I think he had a little crush on his girl coach, standing behind him in the above photo.

On the last day of tee-ball, the kids got to run through the middle of two rows of parents, giving them high-fives. Not every kid was brave enough to do it, but Aidan did!
